[Communicating bad news: experience in a hospital of Peru].

چکیده

Sr. Editor. En la relación médico-paciente, la comunicación de malas noticias se convierte en una experiencia difícil para el profesional de la salud, debido que la expresión verbal de una mala noticia trascenderá otras esferas en la percepción del paciente, y que afectará negativamente sus expectativas y proyectos de vida personal, familiar y social. Vinculado a ello, Robert Buckman, médico oncólogo, estructuró conceptos y estrategias que permitieran evaluar el contexto previo y posterior a la comunicación en sí de una mala noticia (1,2). Sin embargo, diversos reportes hacen mención sobre la subsistencia de las dificultades en los emisores (personal de salud) y consecuentes quejas en los receptores (paciente y/o familia) (3,4). El objetivo de la presente comunicación es compartir los resultados de un estudio sobre las características del proceso comunicativo de emisión de malas noticias en un hospital de nuestro país.
